As of August 3rd, 2021, the University has reinstated its policy requiring face coverings. For students, faculty, staff, and visitors, wearing a CDC-recommended face covering is required indoors, regardless of your vaccination status.

Your health and wellbeing can be protected and strengthened with simple, healthy habits.
Continue good health habits to be as safe as possible while on campus:
- Stay home if you are sick.
- Wear a mask indoors.
- Practice good personal hygiene such as washing your hands.
- Continue to use MTest, which provides information about campus and community resources.
- Continue to quarantine or isolate yourself if you have COVID-19 symptoms or a positive test. If you are exposed to COVID-19 and you are not fully vaccinated, you should quarantine.

- Given the Delta variant, increasing transmission rates, and the advice of our public health experts, effective Tuesday, August 3, we are reinstituting the requirement that all students, staff, faculty, contractors, and visitors wear facial masks or coverings while indoors on campus and at university facilities.
- The University will provide individuals in our community an N95 mask (or alternative) and fitting services, based on DRC recommendation or in response to any other concerns as described in the University Health and Safety Mask. If you don’t have a University-issued cloth mask, you can get one from one of the following locations:

- UMD health services is offering COVID testing for students. Faculty and staff should seek medical resources from their normal healthcare provider.
- The University works with the MN Department of Health, who conducts COVID tracing and necessary investigations related to a positive COVID case. The UMD COVID Dashboard is updated each Friday. All health privacy regulations will be maintained to ensure privacy of health information.
Students, faculty, and staff with underlying health conditions, or those who are older, will have options to mitigate their exposure to the virus, as needed, based on individual circumstances. Please work with your supervisor and/or advisor to find the best options for your situation.
Creating an Inclusive Campus Climate

We understand that the COVID-19 pandemic has, in some cases, resulted in hostile, offensive or intimidating acts directed against individuals because of their perceived race, national origin, age, disability-status, or other protected identity*.
